Hurricane Wilma caused MTV Latin America to cancel its awards ceremony in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula in October and the winners were finally announced during the weekend with little fanfare, Daily Variety reported Monday.
The Mexican pop band Reik took three awards including best vocal group or duo while Colombian singer/songwriter Juanes and Argentina's Miranda! each received two awards.
My Chemical Romance was named best new international artist while the Black Eyed Peas took the prizes in both hip-hop and R&B categories.
MTV Latin America said it will air a "Video Music Awards" special Thursday night, which will include performances by some of the winners.
