MSNBC is bumping Tucker Carlson out of his prime time slot for a new show by former Fox News anchor Rita Cosby.

"The Situation with Tucker Carlson" failed to catch on during its seven weeks in the 9 p.m. EDT spot, drawing an average 201,000 viewers per night -- compared to numbers in the millions for Fox's "Hannity and Combs" and CNN's "Larry King Live" in the same time slot, the New York Post reported Saturday.
MSNBC President Rick Kaplan told the Post ratings had nothing to do with the decision to move Carlson's show to 11 p.m. He said it was a plan already in development.
Cosby joined MSNBC June 13, the same day Carlson made his debut on the cable news channel. Her new show will be called "Rita Cosby: Live and Direct."
