A Florida sheriff's deputy discovered another deputy's family photo on an MP3 player in the possession of a suspect who claimed it belonged to his sister.
Charlotte County sheriff's deputies said William Kyle Campbell, 18, was taken into custody Sunday morning in Englewood after the sheriff's office received reports of suspicious males on bicycles and he allegedly dropped a GPS device and a pair of gloves when confronted by deputies, the Sarasota (Fla.) Herald-Tribune reported Tuesday.
Campbell was also found to be carrying two flashlights, a wallet, a ring, a woman's earring, two necklaces, sunglasses, a large number of coins and an MP3 player he claimed belonged to his sister, deputies said.
However, a deputy discovered another deputy's family photo on the MP3 player and the deputy's sister-in-law said it had been stolen from her car, investigators said.
Deputies said Campbell is now suspected of being behind several car burglaries.
Campbell was arrested and charged with four counts of burglary of a conveyance, four petit theft charges and a count of possession of burglary tools.
