The teen movie star of 1980s films such as "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty in Pink," Molly Ringwald, is guest-starring during sweeps on NBC's "Medium."

It marks the first TV appearance in several years for Ringwald, Zap2it.com noted Wednesday.
In the episode airing May 1, Ringwald plays a woman who Patricia Arquette's main character, Allison, tries to save from danger.
Ringwald said she is a longtime fan of the show and is "thrilled" to be a part of it.
Ringwald made her mark on Hollywood in a series of John Hughes movies, starting with 1984's "Sixteen Candles."
In recent years she has appeared on the stage in shows such as "Cabaret" and "Enchanted April" in New York and "When Harry Met Sally" in London.
