A high school student's boast of "a movie star sleeping in his bedroom" led police Thursday to missing star Scout Taylor-Compton.

Taylor-Compton, 16, disappeared from her Apple Valley, Calif., home on Aug. 12. Apple Valley School Police were tipped to her whereabouts by Granite High School officials and found her at the student's home Thursday morning, the Victorville, Calif., Daily Press reported.
Her hair dyed black, Taylor-Compton told police she had been sleeping "around town" and high school friends were bringing her food.
Taylor-Compton's publicist, Loura Klear, would not comment except to say the teen star "has been found and she is safe."
Taylor-Compton co-starred with "Spy Kids'" Alexa Vega in the 2004 film "Sleepover." She played recurring roles on TV's "Gilmore Girls,""The Guardian,""Charmed" and "Unfabulous."
