Miss America Pageant leaves Atlantic City, moves to Las Vegas

The 2006 Miss America Pageant will take place at the Aladdin Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, it was announced Wednesday.

The pageant will be broadcast live Jan. 21 on the Nashville-based cable channel, Country Music Television, or CMT.

It will mark the first foray outside of Atlantic City, N.J., in Miss America's 85 year history, organizers said in a news release.
