Mel Gibson is reportedly involved in producing a made-for-TV ABC movie described as a love story set against the backdrop of the Holocaust.

"Flory" is the real-life love story of Dutch Jew Flory Van Beek and her non-Jewish boyfriend who sheltered her from the Nazis, Daily Variety reported Tuesday. Variety predicted Gibson's involvement in the project will be controversial.
Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" was criticized for alleged anti-Semitic elements and his father, Hutton Gibson, has been quoted questioning whether the Holocaust actually happened.
ABC's Quinn Taylor, however, cautioned would-be critics to hold their fire.
"I would tell them to shut up and wait to see the movie, and then judge," Taylor told Variety. "I'm not about to rewrite history (with the movie). I'm going to explore an amazing love story that we can all learn from and, hopefully, be inspired by.
"People are going to say what they're going to say," he added.
