The romantic comedy, born a decade ago at Columbia Pictures, is moving to Touchstone's Beacon Pictures to be produced by Kevin Spacey, Dean Devlin and Denise Di Novi, according to Hollywood Reporter. Spacey will not act in the film, as had been previously reported, and Ryan's co-star has not been cast.
A Hepburn-Tracy-like chemistry develops when a theater director comes to Broadway with a Shakespearean production and investors insist he cast a movie star in the leading role.
Ryan's recent credits include "Against the Ropes,""In the Cut" and "Kate & Leopold."
