Lee and Anthony Earley sent letters to the team Thursday. The letters promise improvements that will prevent a repeat of the "national embarrassment" of the lights shutting off during Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday.
"I want to personally reaffirm PG&E's commitment to ensuring that an outage of this nature doesn't happen again," Earley wrote to 49ers Chief Executive Officer Jed York.
The measures being taken include fixing the primary power line at Candlestick Park and installing equipment to give real-time data on all lines connected to the stadium. Workers are also ensuring the lights will stay on when the stadium switches to backup power.
Earley said other "reliability improvements" will be coming in the near future.
