Martha Stewart plans to star in a high-profile daily cooking and crafts show beginning next September.

The announcement of the syndicated project sent Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia stock up 7 percent Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal said.

The homemaking guru will team up with reality-show impresario Mark Burnett, creator of such hits as "Survivor" and "The Apprentice."

A daytime series is just a small part of Stewart's strategy for repairing her public image and reviving her brand after she finishes serving a five-month prison sentence for lying to federal investigators in a personal stock sale.

The key to corporate and personal redemption may well come from the other project Burnett has discussed with Stewart -- a prime-time reality show. But, no one's talking about that one yet.
