Married at First Sight star Michaela Clark says Zack Freeman took no accountability in their marriage and he always talked about what she was doing wrong in their relationship.

Michaela, whose marriage to Zack is starting to crumble on the show, appeared on the October 13 episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered and watched back a Season 13 clip of an emotional meeting Zack had with Married at First Sight expert, Dr. Pepper Schwartz.

"I'm a perfectionist, and so nothing I ever do in life is good enough," Zack laments during the counseling session. "And so I put that on other people, including my wife, and it's not fair."

Zack cries, "Michaela is an amazing person, like, she's not a bad person at all. It's just I have this f-cking view that things have to be perfect and that no matter that I do in life, it's not good enough."

"I have to get away from that," he concludes.

Unfiltered host Jamie Otis -- who starred on Season 1 of Married at First Sight and is still married to her match, Doug Hehner -- asked Michaela, "What do you think of the fact Zack can admit his faults?"

"Yeah, I mean, it's definitely a step towards accountability," Michaela replied. "I think Zack lacks a lot of that in the union, typically it's a lot of, 'Michaela is doing wrong.'"

"And so, it's a breath of fresh air to see that," she added. "It's like, 'Okay, cool.'"

But Michaela didn't seem to feel any pity for Zack in that footage, which showed tears streaming down her husband's face. Michaela actually appeared stone-faced and a little pissed off.

So when Jamie asked what it was like watching Zack's breakdown, Michaela bluntly responded, "He's right."

"I do feel like in this marriage, there is literally nothing that I can do right and if I mess up or I am 100 percent myself, then the marriage is over," Michaela admitted.

"It's like divorce is always on the table," she explained, "and that gives you so much anxiety, relationship anxiety, that I'm afraid to express myself."

Married at First Sight expert Dr. Viviana Coles joined Michaela on Unfiltered and suggested how she could handle this tricky situation.

"Michaela really needs to just be the wife that she can be proud of, because ultimately, if that's who you are and it doesn't work for your new husband, that's it," Viviana said.

Viviana recommended how that's a better alternative to Michaela "trying to adapt and move and chase this target and not being able to be proud or confident -- and it still doesn't work out."

Viviana, however, pointed out how Zack's self-described perfectionism was "a huge realization" for him.

"As a therapist, I'm always thinking, 'And now what? Let's see what happens!'" Viviana exclaimed.

As shown on Married at First Sight's thirteenth season, which airs Wednesday nights on Lifetime, Zack and Michaela's relationship appeared to get back on track after an explosive fight earlier in the season over Zack's lack of communication before taking off one morning to run errands.

Michaela and Zack enjoyed a few dates and good laughs, but after individually meeting with Dr. Pepper or fellow Married at First Sight expert Pastor Calvin Roberson, Zack and Michaela had an off-camera conversation about what they may choose to do on "Decision Day" that apparently went off the rails.

Michaela accused Zack of saying that if "Decision Day" happened to be that very day -- with about two weeks left in the extreme experiment -- he would say "no" to remaining Michaela's husband.

Zack claimed Michaela gave the same response over whether she'd want to stay married or get a divorce, but Michaela insisted she had responded with a more vague, "I don't know."

The argument resulted in a deflated Michaela wanting to sleep in a separate bed from Zack, and so Zack decided to leave their shared apartment altogether and sleep at his old place.

While videochatting with his brother Toliver on Zoom the next day -- when Michaela was supposed to meet up with Zack's brothers for a hangout session -- Zack alleged that Michaela had texted him with some shocking news.

Zack shared how Michaela had claimed she never actually wanted Zack to leave their apartment despite her request to not sleep together.

"She moved out," Zack revealed of his wife. "She packed everything. I realized she even took the seasoning!"

Toliver called Michaela's behavior "childish, rude and disrespectful," and Zack insisted he had been trying in his marriage and had never put more effort into something in his entire life.

"Seeing Michaela move out for the second time, it's definitely challenging. I don't know if it's something I can overcome because this is the type of [dramatic] reaction that I have trouble with [in relationships]," Zack lamented, adding, "This is literally insanity."
