Married at First Sight star Meka Jones admits she can be abrasive sometimes in her marriage to Michael Watson, but she claims it's because he frustrates her so often.

On the March 11 episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Meka watched back a Season 10 clip of Michael accusing Meka of responding to situations with anger.

"It doesn't really work for anybody. That's not [being] vulnerable. Your idea of being vulnerable has not worked and does not work," Michael told her in the clip, adding that "showing up is great but not enough."

Meka snapped at Michael in the disagreement and argued her case, prompting a viewer question on the Unfiltered broadcast.

"Meka, do you ever think you come off a little harsh when you talk to Michael?" Unfiltered host Jamie Otis read from her list of viewer questions.

"Yes, I do think that I come off harsh when I talk to Michael sometimes," Meka confessed.

"It's so frustrating to me when I'm constantly telling somebody, 'Just communicate, just be open, just be honest,' and you eventually you get frustrated because you're like, 'I was calm and I was being open and you still lied to me.'"

She added, "And I'm trying to move past this but it's hard -- it's frustrating!"

Meka has accused Michael of lying multiple times, and at first, Michael deemed such allegations "ridiculous."

In addition to Michael denying a sex ultimatum he allegedly gave Meka before their honeymoon in Panama, Meka also accused Michael of lying about turning down a high-paying offer to be principal at a Catholic high school and working as a yoga instructor on the side.

Every time Meka put Michael on the spot looking for the truth, he seemed to shut down and tell Meka he just wasn't comfortable enough with her to be forthcoming about certain aspects of his life. He also felt Meka enjoyed setting him up for I-got-you moments.

"Meka, do you think there is anything you could be doing differently so that Michael doesn't shut down or is this straight up just a Michael problem?" Jamie asked on Unfiltered.

"No, I think there's always something that could be done on both sides. I know for a fact I can be softer with Michael. I respond with anger and that is something I am working very hard to change," Meka shared.

"So I feel like if I approach it differently, maybe I will get a better response," she added.

But Meka also said Michael's promises "have to be followed with action" in order to make a difference.

"When he's being open and he's being honest, I can be myself and I can be calm," Meka shared.

Married at First Sight expert Pastor Calvin Roberson joined Meka on Unfiltered and offered his perspective on when a couple has trouble communicating with each other.

"For Meka and Michael, and for other couples like that, they actually need a mediator, because very often, you can't see how you're communicating," Pastor Cal explained.

"In your mind, you're thinking you're coming off one way, but in reality indefinitely you are not. Sometimes you need a third party there to say, 'You know, this is how this sounds.'"

Jamie joked another possibility for Meka and Michael is just to watch Married at First Sight's tenth-season episodes back on TV to see how they act.

"That works!" Pastor Cal noted.

But after meeting with Married at First Sight expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz in last week's episode, Meka and Michael made huge strides in their relationship by playing a game of truths in which Michael was blindfolded and Meka could ask him any question she wanted to.

"Do you fully understand why it has been so hard for me to trust you?" Meka asked during the game.

"Yeah, I do," Michael replied. "So, I do take responsibility for the stuff that's happened, but I also hope there's a way to grow and move past this so we can see what this really can be."

Meka later revealed on Unfiltered she appreciated Michael's vulnerability and was glad he could finally admit he had lied -- because it meant they could actually move forward.

In the latest episode of Married at First Sight, Meka and Michael enjoyed a day of boating for their one-month anniversary and Michael gifted his wife with a trip to Jamaica so they could swim with dolphins.

Meka was blown away by the kind gesture and could tell Michael was putting effort into their marriage, but she hoped it wasn't going to be "too good to be true."

Married at First Sight 10, which currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime, also stars Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid, Mindy Shiben and Zach Justice, Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman, and Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd
