Married at First Sight star Jamie Thompson says he has trust issues and that's often why he and wife Elizabeth Bice would get into some explosive arguments.

During Wednesday night's episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Jamie watched back a Season 9 clip in which he had shockingly called Elizabeth "a materialistic c-nt" following a big fight.

Jamie and Elizabeth's fight began because when they were looking through their wedding photo album together on their one-month anniversary, Elizabeth seemed to only make comments about her hair, makeup and wedding gown instead of their marriage or unique union.

"I think Beth and I were just kind of reaching a breaking point where we're just not seeing eye to eye," Jamie explained when looking back on what was supposed to be a romantic and special evening.

"I mean, it seems like I planned that whole night and just nothing went like I thought it was going to go with her."

Jamie got emotional watching that clip back in which Elizabeth appeared devastated and defeated.

"It's really just wishing that we hadn't have had some of those fights and it's just like, 'What's the point of it?' We didn't really accomplish anything; we didn't grow from it," Jamie shared.

"It was just a stupid fight that caused us a lot of heartbreak."

Jamie was then asked where his anger stemmed from considering he tended to lash out a lot.

"It's literally just trust. It's not wanting to let somebody in and being scared to let somebody in and therefore it's just easier to push that person away," Jamie admitted.

Jamie's Married at First Sight co-stars Matthew Gwynne and Iris Caldwell -- who wed Amber Bowles and Keith Manley, respectively, on Season 9 -- joined him on Unfiltered and weighed-in on Jamie's decision to leave Elizabeth in the middle of the night following their argument.

"As long as they communicate and he properly tells her where he's going and whom he's with and when he's coming back [it's okay]. That's all that matters," Matt said with a big smile, clearly poking fun at the fact he had refused to come home to Amber several times throughout the season.

"No, I mean, I agree [with what Jamie did]," Matt said on a serious note.

"Sometimes, you've just got to have space. Some people just need space."

On how Jamie handled the situation, Iris suggested he could've just had a simple conversation with Elizabeth.

"I mean, think about it. I don't know if Beth still gets why you left," Iris noted.

"Okay," Jamie said, listening.

"Because all that she heard was like, 'You're materialistic,' and then you leaving," Iris reasoned.

Jamie admitted, "I definitely regret leaving," especially since his main issue is trust and he basically demolished all trust by walking out on Elizabeth like that.

"I wish we had the chance to sit down and just have an open and honest conversation with each other rather than getting so explosive," Jamie explained on Unfiltered.

Later in the Unfiltered broadcast, Matt also said he didn't care if he upset Amber or looked bad on television for the incidents in which he hasn't come home at night or shared his whereabouts with Amber.

"Matt, you said just a few weeks ago you would never do this again. What happened?" Unfiltered host Jamie Otis asked Matt after the show aired a clip showing Amber crying to the cameras at nearly 2AM about how Matt didn't return home again.

"I needed space," Matt replied on Unfiltered.

"Is marriage something that you're taking seriously?" the host asked.

"Umm," Matt said before hesitating. "Marriage is something I'm not very happy in right now, and I'm not really feeling like I want to spend much time with Amber at this time."

The Unfiltered host then asked Matt what it was about Amber that he just couldn't stand or handle.

"I think it's just her personality at times. It just aggravates me," Matt replied.

After she and Matt's Married at First Sight co-stars expressed shock to his comments, Matt continued.

"I mean, if y'all keep pushing, I'm going to be real!" Matt blurted out in attempt to defend himself.

"I get annoyed and I get aggravated. [Amber] stresses me out. She vibrates at a very different frequency than I do. She worries all the time, and I'm, like, on edge all the time."

Matt continued, "That's not me. I need to be relaxed and in a good place. I could not take anymore. I was just like, 'I've got to get out of here! I've got to go!'"

Matt appeared frustrated at this point, and he was letting his true feelings be known.

"Whether it makes me look bad on TV or it upsets her, I don't care," Matt admitted.

"I'm going. Like, I'm out! I need to decompress and relax and get back to a good place so I can bring that person back to this marriage."

Up to this point in the Married at First Sight season, which has less than two weeks to go until "Decision Day," Amber and Matt's relationship has been a roller coaster.

They had a strong physical bond at first, but an emotional connection has been lacking for both spouses.

Amber and Matt's relationship, however, seemed to take a turn for the better in the latest episode when Amber paid a visit to Matt's childhood home and the pair discussed their pasts.

Married at First Sight's currently-airing season also stars Deonna McNeill and Gregory Okotie.
