Married at First Sight star Jamie Thompson admits he had concerns about Elizabeth Bice's father and the role he plays in her life after they got married on Season 9 of the Lifetime reality series.

Elizabeth, a self-declared "Daddy's girl," agreed to get married at first sight, but little did her husband Jamie know that her father would have a very tough time letting go.
When Jamie and Ronnie met for brunch the day after the wedding, Ronnie confessed it "burned the inside" of his ears to hear that Elizabeth and Jamie had shared a bed the night before.
But that wasn't all, as Ronnie said he had Elizabeth's heart and Jamie couldn't take it away from him.
"If you can't tell already, I take care of her. I couldn't watch you kiss her last night. I'm very protective of my daughter. So that whole lips on her face thing really got me upset," Ronnie explained in a recent episode.
"When the garter came off, I had to turn away; I couldn't watch it. That's still my little girl and it still makes me a little sad because I know you're going to take a part of her life I've always had."
Jamie lamented on Unfiltered how he didn't know what to think of that conversation given Ronnie had clearly been forward and a bit aggressive in his delivery.
"At this point, I don't know what to think because it seems like he's really attached and he's having a hard time letting her go," Jamie said on Unfiltered.

"I'm her husband now and my biggest fear is, 'Is her dad going to be in there trying to control us, and control the marriage? Or is he actually going to let us have our space?'"
Jamie added he was "definitely worried" about Elizabeth's dad being overprotective.

"I don't even know what to make of it at this point," Jamie noted.
Married at First Sight expert, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, joined the conversation on Unfiltered and advised Jamie to handle the situation by reassuring Elizabeth's father about his intentions. Ronnie apparently needed confirmation Jamie would protect Elizabeth and take care of her.
"But I do think we all have to set boundaries," Dr. Pepper added. "Because you don't ever want to feel that you are not first place in your partner's life."
Jamie concluded he was trying to be "respectful" and "not get upset at it." He planned to laugh with Ronnie and "let him have his fun."
"I think he's poking [at me]," Jamie admitted of Ronnie. "I think he's seeing what he can say and what I'll take."
