Married at First Sight star Dave Flaherty typically had to deflect disagreements and be patient with Amber Martorana during Season 7, but looking back, he can't say he handled every situation well.

During the latest Married at First Sight: Unfiltered broadcast hosted by Season 1 MAFS participant Jamie Otis, Dave watched back a clip of Amber telling him during a dinner out that he tended to be critical and judgmental of her.

Amber also accused Dave of having expectations of her that she couldn't meet.

"I just think there are differences between us," Dave bluntly told Amber in the video clip.

On Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Dave said it was "tough" to hear Amber tell him those things.

"You know, through most of the season, I probably could have chosen my words better," Dave admitted. "And that's something I'm realizing and taking forward with me."

Dave added, "There is a difference between us, but I really didn't mean it in a bad way."

Dave and Amber chose to stay married on "Decision Day" after overcoming many obstacles in their relationship over the course of the eight-week experiment.

Not only did Amber face insecurities about her physical appearance and overall performance as a wife, but Dave struggled to express himself emotionally and give Amber the reassurance she needed to feel confident in their connection.

When Jamie asked Dave whether his conversation with Amber at dinner that night gave him any concerns going into "Decision Day," Dave replied, "Sure. Yeah."

"I think there was concern going into 'Decision Day' certainly. It wasn't an easy eight weeks," Dave confessed.

"I always said, 'There's enough good here that we need to continue trying to make it work. This isn't a dating relationship where we can just walk away; this is marriage. And I think that needs to be honored and respected and we should continue to work.'"

In addition to Dave and Amber, the other two couples who starred on Season 7 of Married at First Sight also chose to remain married on "Decision Day" -- Bobby Dodd and Danielle Bergman as well as Tristan Thompson and Mia Bally.

An update will be provided on each couple during Tuesday night's reunion special for Married at First Sight at 9PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
