Married at First Sight star Clint Webb feels Gina Micheletti's complaints about him as a husband were "disappointing" because he didn't think she was acting like a wife at all.

On Married at First Sight's sixteenth season, Gina, a 35-year-old Nashville salon owner, and Clint, a 40-year-old tech consulting company owner, have managed to keep each other in the friend zone with only about a week left until Decision Day.

The spouses appear to get along great and have fun together, but there is no spark or intimacy of any kind between them. Clint and Gina had even been sleeping in separate beds in their Nashville apartment from Week 1 -- post-honeymoon -- through the Couples' Retreat.

During the April 26 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty, Clint watched back a Season 16 clip of Gina complaining about him to her co-stars Chris Thielk and Kirsten Grimes.

"I'm surprised Clint actually found the bed, because he was pretty drunk last night," Gina says, referring to a party the cast had at the Couples' Retreat.

"If I were to ask anyone, they wouldn't want that in a marriage. That's not something that is attractive that you're like, 'Oh, I can't wait to get that guy!' I don't want him to have to be a different person around me, but he's never built that attraction for me either."

Gina concludes, "And so he doesn't see me as someone that he need to impress or he needs to fight for or he needs to work for or compliment. So, like, I've never felt like a wife."

Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam asked Clint if he ever felt like a husband in his marriage to Gina on the show.

"No, no I haven't," Clint admitted.

"It's like how are you going to try to play the role of 'the husband' when your wife is just completely outside of acting like a wife too? You know, it takes two."

So after hearing Gina's issues with him, Clint said, "It was disappointing."

"We were having a great weekend and I felt like it was a good bonding time for us, and you know, these things were never vocalized to me -- and they're vocalized to the group," he explained.

"So it's like, 'How can I understand? How can I help correct these things if I don't know?'"

Clint's Married at First Sight co-star Airris Williams joined him on Afterparty and gushed, "I love Clint! I want Clint to just keep being his true, authentic self. At the end of the day, that's really all he can do. And I've witnessed him try to 'be a husband' and make strides."

Airris revealed, for example, that Clint "loves to cook." As viewers have seen on Married at First Sight's sixteenth season, Clint made most dinners for Gina, including one of her fried catfish favorites.

"Clint would call [Gina], like, 'Hey, I'm making this.' And she would come home with takeout. So it's not like he's not [trying]," Airris said.

Clint also alleged on Afterparty that Gina was a totally different person off-camera, which left him confused about who she really is and how she felt about their relationship.

With just about a week to go until Decision Day, Clint and Gina had yet to kiss, let alone make love, or explore intimacy in their marriage of any kind.

The pair attempted to set the mood one night, and they weren't shy to dive into deep conversation -- but nothing seemed to help advance their friendship connection.

Despite a mutual lack of attraction to each other, Gina and Clint remained optimistic throughout the process and made an effort to have fun with each other.

The spouses kept an open mind that an emotional and physical connection could develop organically, or maybe even happen overnight.

For Clint's part, he was apparently doing everything in his power to avoid getting divorced.

"I've always been of the mindset of, 'Once I get married, that's it. I'm staying married.' So that's a promise and something I heralded in my mind forever," Clint told Keshia on Afterparty.

During the Couples' Retreat in Gatlinburg, TN, Gina asked Clint to "step up in communication" for their relationship to work, and Clint wanted to continue to smile and have good times with his wife without putting stress or pressure on themselves.

But Clint was unaware of the fact Gina had vented to their co-stars about his wild partying at the retreat.

Married at First Sight's sixteenth season also stars Airris Williams and Jasmine Secrest, Nicole Lilienthal and Chris Thielk, and Kirsten Grimes and Shaquille Dillon.

Domynique Kloss and Mackinley Gilbert decided to get a divorce on Day 12 of the experiment and have not been featured in recent episodes.
