The couples were matched by Married at First Sight experts Pastor Calvin Roberson, Dr. Jessica Griffin, and Dr. Pepper Schwartz based on compatibility, personality, life goals, hobbies, religion, views of marriage and gender roles, and much more.

Over the course of the season, which filmed for seven weeks, each couple will be shown navigating the joys and struggles of daily life together after agreeing to an arranged marriage.

The latest Married at First Sight broadcast began on Day 30, with the couples approaching the one-month anniversary of their weddings.

To celebrate how far the couples have come, everyone gathered together for a dinner out with Dr. Pepper.

Stephanie said she woke up every morning next to AJ with a smile on her face, and Kate wished she was that happy in her own marriage.

"I think that after one month, it feels a lot different than I thought it would feel to be married. I knew it was going to be hard, but I didn't think it would be this hard!" Kate said in a confessional.

Dr. Pepper then asked each individual to grade him or herself as a spouse.

Both Stephanie and AJ scored themselves a 9, and they appeared very happy together.

AJ admitted to having frustrations Stephanie needed to help him through so he's not perfect, and then Stephanie acknowledged she could improve in certain areas as well.

Will and Jasmine scored themselves a 7. Jasmine said there was room for growth and they were opposites in different ways, so they had to learn each other's personalities and adjustments needed to be made.

Will agreed compromise was necessary but his comfort level with his wife has "grown tremendously." The couple also joked a lot, and so Will thought their marriage was progressing.

Afterward, Kristine scored herself an 8.9 and Keith gave himself an 8. Kristine had "a few complaints" about Keith, such as needing to step it up in the kitchen, but they were getting along and had great chemistry.

"Honestly, he could have [scored himself] a little bit higher and I wouldn't have complained about that," Kristine noted.

And finally, Kate shocked the table by giving herself a score of 6.5 -- compared to Luke's score of 7.5 for himself.

"I feel like you're doing better than that," Luke told Kate, before telling the cameras, "I thought she thought highly of herself in our marriage."

Kate said Luke understood where she was at, but Luke disagreed.

"Luke gave himself 7.5. That's a little high," Kate told the cameras with a laugh.

After all, Luke had told his wife he was "repulsed" and felt "dead inside" following their first real kiss. Luke also accused his wife of having a drinking problem, a statement which he later retracted.

"I gave myself a 6.5 as a spouse because I feel like I am trying but I'm not getting results," Kate explained in a confessional.

After the dinner, Kate and Luke sat down for a chat over what had just transpired.

Luke asked Kate why she had graded herself so low, and she told her husband she's usually a 9.9 in relationships but was stuck on 6.5 in this marriage and had no idea how she could get it higher.

Kate told the cameras it didn't feel like a marriage because there was "no romantic part" in their relationship.

"It's cool if I'm just not doing it for you," Kate told Luke.

"Don't do that," he said.

"What?! I mean, that's what it is. I'm just trying to be realistic," Kate told him, as Luke shook his head "no."

Kate told Luke that she showed him everything there is to see about herself and if he was never going to be interested, she wanted to know the truth sooner rather than later.

"I don't know what to say," Luke replied. "You know what bothers me... That you drink so much!"

"Yeah, and you drink too!" Kate argued. "You threw up at 3AM and didn't come home the other night because you were so wasted, so like, how can you be mad at me? We both drink!"

Luke blamed Kate's drinking for his lack of a physical connection or attraction, but Dr. Pepper pointed out it just seemed like an excuse for his behavior and feelings.

Dr. Pepper said this situation for Kate was "unfair," and if they couldn't develop better methods of communication, their marriage was going to be "doomed."

Luke felt guilty Kate was so uncomfortable all the time and seemed to drink as a result; he didn't want her to be in a "terrible" situation.

With just three weeks left until "Decision Day," each couple then reflected on how far they've come and where they see themselves headed.

AJ and Stephanie went go-karting, and AJ acknowledged he could be his true self around her. He said their marriage was full of excitement, adventure and playful competition.

AJ and Stephanie were happy and said being married was "amazing."

On Day 31 of marriage, Jasmine and Will stopped at the winery where they wed to celebrate their one-month anniversary together. The couple agreed they would do it all over again if given the option.

Jasmine said her communication with Will was getting better every day and they were finally coming to terms with why they had been matched to begin with.

Keith was then shown taking a cooking class. He wanted to prepare Kristine a nice meal for their anniversary to prove he cared about her and was trying to contribute more in their relationship.

"After a month of being with Kristine, I definitely have a lot of feelings for her now," Keith said in a confessional.

"I just want Kristine to see that I appreciate her and... am stepping out of my comfort zone and trying my best to make her happy at all times. I can't wait to see the look on her face... when I show her what I've done."

Meanwhile, Luke left Kate on their one-month anniversary to go hang out with his friends. Kate said he set his alarm for 8AM and left her alone on their big day.

"One month ago, I never would have expected my husband would not want to spend our one-month anniversary together. It's disappointing because it means so much to me to be married, so much so, that I was willing to be married at first sight," Kate told the cameras.

"I have feelings for him and I have become attached. I know things haven't been going well, but I woke up today just hoping -- a little sliver -- that it's our anniversary and maybe we can do something nice today."

Kate broke down into tears and locked herself in the bathroom. It was the first time viewers have seen Kate have an emotional breakdown, as she had been very strong up to this point.

Later on, Stephanie and AJ went to a winery, and the pair was falling in love with each other.

"I want to be in love with Stephanie and I feel like it's soon to come," AJ noted, adding that he adored all of the personality in her laughter alone.

Stephanie was also "feeling really good" because she was "almost in love" and smitten. She said she'd marry AJ all over again if given the chance to go back in time and decide for herself.

Meanwhile, Jasmine and Will were enjoying a romantic dinner in a wine cellar, and Jasmine predicted they might get intimate that night.

The mood took a drastic turn, however, when Jasmine asked Will to rate her as a wife since the previous exercise with Dr. Pepper only required them to score themselves as spouses.

Will came up with the shocking answer of "6.8," and Jasmine was floored. She said he "ruined" the night.

"I wanted to smack him! This is our one-month anniversary and I think I'm really good as a wife. Will has more to work on. He's been like a 5, so I just feel a little shocked and kind of a little hurt," Jasmine said in a confessional.

Will didn't think his rating for Jasmine was low, but he did think there were opportunities for growth in their relationship -- especially in terms of communication -- and he wanted her to know the truth.

"I cook for you and I tolerate your messiness and anything you ask is done, so I don't understand," Jasmine told her husband.

However, Jasmine had graded herself a 7, so Will didn't think his assessment of their marriage was that far off from how she viewed herself as a wife.

Regardless, Jasmine felt "disrespected" by the number, and so she said making love was off the table for that night.

As for Keith and Kristine, Keith surprised his wife with a beautiful dinner on Day 31 of marriage. Not only did he cook for her, but he also decorated their kitchen with rose petals and candles.

Kristine thought the meal was really good and she was blown away. Keith's effort meant the world to Kristine, and she called the dinner "a dream come true." Kristine could tell her husband was committed.

"Keith is amazing. If he's not too careful and he keeps doing things like this, I might just fall in love with him," Kristine told the cameras.

But things weren't looking nearly that good for Kate and Luke, who finally came home after a day with his friends on his one-month wedding anniversary.

Luke said he didn't know how they had left things the night before and so he removed himself from the situation.

"After our conversation about Kate's 6.5 rating, Kate was clearly unhappy when we went to bed last night. It's kind of hard for me when she has a bad attitude towards our marriage," Luke explained in a confessional.

"I feel like it's not helpful or productive, and if it brings her down, it's really not helpful for our marriage."

Dr. Jessica, however, said Luke was sending his wife "mixed messages," which could be detrimental to their marriage.

Luke was saying he wanted to make their marriage work, but then he abandoned her on their one-month anniversary. Dr. Jessica noted Luke's actions did not measure up to his words and promises.

"I'm not sure where Luke and I go from here. It just feels like I'm in this marriage alone right now," Kate said in a confessional.

Kate was desperate to see "some sort of glimmer of hope" from her husband in order to make the marriage work.

Afterward, AJ and Stephanie exchanged anniversary gifts. She felt safe with him and was extremely optimistic about the potential they had as a married couple.

Stephanie made AJ a collage of photos for them to hang on the wall and then AJ recreated the huge bouquet comprised of tropical flowers he had made for her on the beach during their honeymoon.
