The couples starring on this season are Christina, a 30-year-old flight attendant from Houma, LA, and Henry, a 35-year-old clinical recruiter from Arabi, LA; Karen, a 30-year-old consultant from New Orleans, LA, and Miles, a 26-year-old who works with youth from Spartanburg, SC; and Amani, a 29-year-old non-profit worker who was raised in Chicago, IL, and Woody Randall, a 30-year-old teacher and coach from New Orleans.

The other couples are Amelia Fatsi, a 27-year-old medical resident from Richmond, VA, and Bennett Kirschner, a 28-year-old artistic director from Montvale, NJ, as well as Brett Lindsey, a 35-year-old with a career in information technology from Gretna, LA, and Olivia, a 30-year-old nurse from Bossier City, LA.

Married at First Sight, Episode 8

The Married at First Sight broadcast began on Day 12 of marriage with the five couples getting settled in their new neutral apartments as married couples.

Olivia was shown meeting up with her friend Rachel for brunch, and Olivia revealed, "A lot has happened in 12 days... The first four days were really great, and then we had our first little spat."

Rachel recalled rating her marriage a 7 or 7.5 and hurting Brett's feelings, but Olivia said they worked on their communication and talked things through. Olivia wanted her marriage to be a success story, and she said she needed to take it a day at a time.

Olivia also shared how she and Brett were at odds over finances and how to spend their money.

"I work really hard, and I'm like, 'If I want to go buy something, I don't want to be told I can't.' And that's something I need to work on," Olivia said.

Rachel advised Olivia to tell Brett that and be totally straightforward.

When Brett met with his pal Anthony at a restaurant, he sarcastically said meeting with Pastor Cal was "fun" because the Married at First Sight expert had tried to "stir sh-t up a little bit" and bring up "some hot-button issues" by talking about multiple marital problems at once.

Brett shared how the discussion had gone "dramatically" and suggested it brought up some red flags for him in his relationship with Olivia.

Brett noted Olivia makes significantly more money than him and there is an issue when it comes to how they prioritize their money and spending it.

"I live by a budget, because that's what reasonable people do. She's not so much. My priorities revolve around building wealth, retirement and paying off my house. Her priorities revolve more around expensive trips and buying things off QVC," Brett explained.

Anthony said part of Olivia's outlook is probably living in the moment and making the most out of every day, but Brett said watching his net worth grow is also "super fun."

On Day 13 of marriage, Woody woke up and made his wife a nice breakfast with mimosas.

"I did not think it was going to be this easy this fast. I expected to like the person I was matched with eventually, but we've literally liked each other since Day 1, and it's exciting," Amani told the cameras.

Woody told Amani that she made the relationship easy for him and he was really enjoying himself in their marriage.

"I'm not looking back. No regrets. I'm happy with my life right now. I'm happy with you right now," Woody told his wife.

Bennett then met up with his friend Miranda and wanted her to know how he was developing genuine feelings for Amelia.

Meanwhile, Amelia gushed to her friend Sydney about how she was definitely attracted to Bennett and "he's such a cutie pie." Amelia also loved all of Bennett's "mobile" jobs, but Sydney questioned if Bennett would be willing to move for her and leave his close friends and the tiny house he had built.

"It's hard to tell if he's just being a very good, supportive husband or what," Amelia noted.

Bennett shared with Miranda how Amelia would find out where she's going to live in two-and-a-half weeks for her residency and said, "I'm open to following her somewhere."

Miranda seemed upset Bennett would be willing to move away, saying there would be "a big void" in their friend group if Bennett happened to leave. While leaving would also make Bennett sad, he said he really liked Amelia and saw great potential in their marriage.

Miranda admitted she had "mixed feelings" about Bennett following a person he had just met and leaving the city, but Bennett agreed, "I do too... It's a huge decision, one I'm choosing not to confront yet because I've only known her for two weeks at this point."

Miranda asked if Bennett viewed this Married at First Sight experiment "as another absurd, crazy Bennett adventure" or if he was really envisioning what the rest of his life is going to look like -- and Bennett's response wasn't shown.

Miles was then shown sitting down with Karen and telling her that he hoped she could open up about her feelings more because he wanted to know where he stood with her and what she was thinking.

"Words of affirmation are important to me, so I don't really know what Karen's thinking most times. She's a very hard person to read. I think communicating my needs is important," Miles revealed in a confessional.

Miles told Karen that he would appreciate an occasional compliment even though he could tell that she cared about him. Karen replied, "I know what you're talking about, and that's an area of improvement for me. I'm not good at expressing those things."

Karen acknowledged she moves "pretty slow" with men and thanked Miles for being patient with her.

Karen told the cameras she'd be open to a kiss at this point in her marriage but she felt "weird initiating it." Karen said that because Miles is such a respectful gentleman and was afraid to push her in the intimacy department, a kiss just wasn't happening.

"I know I need to step it up. It's something I want to work on. I just hope you see I'm trying to work on it," Karen told her husband.

Miles confessed to Karen that he was ready for a kiss and his lips were always available for his wife, and the couple shared a couple laughs. Given Miles didn't want to pressure Karen, it seemed he was waiting for her to make the first move.

Christina and Henry argue

Later that night, Christina complained production was at her apartment longer than she had anticipated, and she vented about how producers always emailed her suggestions and things to do, but never Henry.

"I understand that some people are impatient. I understand that some people are confrontational. But to me, impatience is a turnoff and it's not what I'm used to or accustomed to," Henry shared in a confessional.

Christina said she got irritated because she tends to be the one initiating questions and emotions. Christina asked Henry to try harder "and put something into this," and Henry thanked Christina for shopping for the groceries.

Christina wanted Henry to thank her on occasion, but he argued he had definitely thanked her for grocery shopping. Henry, in turn, said Christina hadn't thanked him for the $70 Mexican dinner or Michelin star dinner they had recently.

Henry expressed frustration over the filming process but said he had never once lashed out at production or acted with impatience. Henry asked Christina if she wanted him to point out every time she had been impatient, and she said, "Sure!"

"We don't have enough time," Henry said.

Christina, however, told Henry that he wasn't perfect, and Henry agreed, saying he has eye-contact issues and more.

"What the hell are you doing? You can get out of this. Why aren't you getting out of this right now?" Christina asked.

"I'm not saying I want out of it," Henry replied. "I've said from the beginning -- things are as big as you make them. That's it. If that rubs off on you, then it does. If it doesn't, it doesn't."

The guys and girls meet up

On Day 14 of marriage, the Married at First Sight brides met up with each other at a restaurant while the guys played pool at a bar.

Olivia and Brett both revealed to the two separate groups they had a heated argument over budgeting and Brett didn't feel Olivia had much of one at all, and then Bennett shared how he and Amelia barely talked about finances.

Bennett said he and Amelia basically determined they each support themselves, which was enough, and Brett told the cameras, "Bennett is interesting. It seems he's taking it lightly."

Brett shared how Olivia was used to four or five-star hotels but they might need to stay in two or three-star hotels, and Woody said that wasn't going to happen and would always be an issue.

"She's not going to care that you can't afford it. She's going to pay for it," Woody told the cameras. "It's just a matter of understanding that you have to compromise. Your wife makes more than you. She likes nicer things. Come to grips with it."

Henry told the guys that he had called Christina "high maintenance" and she was mad. With that being said, Miles noted he was "blessed" to have "a low maintenance wife" -- but even if Karen wasn't, he probably wouldn't tell her that.

Meanwhile, Christina complained to the girls about how she was "the doer" in the relationship, like taking care of the house and chores and shopping. She was afraid Henry was going to sit in his "comfortable lane" and not help out much.

Christina also said a man being confident and aggressive is attractive to her but Henry had yet to make a move and be affectionate with her. Christina explained, "Maybe if he would express more what he needs from me. I just don't know how to crack the code."

"He's got to get it together!" Amani agreed.

Karen then revealed to Amelia that Miles had kissed her the previous night. Miles also shared how he and Karen had "a couple smooches" and some tickling here or there.

"To put it frank, we are two very, very, very, very different people. Christina thinks I should be a lot more aggressive," Henry told the guys.

Woody said it appeared Christina just wanted to jump her husband's bones and have Henry "knock her socks off," but Henry apparently wasn't sure what Christina wanted from him.

Brett and Olivia talk budgeting

Later on, Olivia asked Brett to sit down with her and go over her budget because she wanted to prove to her husband she's not frivolous with her money. On the other side of the coin, Olivia also acknowledged she could use some help in that department.

Brett asked Olivia to "ballpark" how much money she spends a month on going out to eat. He said he spends around $120 a month, and Olivia revealed she spends closer to $500 a month.

Brett said he was just trying to tighten up Olivia's budget a little bit more and influence her to think before spending.

Brett cooked Olivia a nice steak and asparagus dinner, and Olivia said her dining budget could switch over to entertainment since she now had a husband to cook good food for her.

Olivia said she and Brett could go to the zoo or go bowling together, adding that they didn't have to do expensive activities.

Christina and Henry reconcile and host a party

On Day 14 of marriage, each couple hosted a party for their friends and family. Dr. Pepper said it was important for each couple to approach preparations as a team.

Christina admitted to Henry before the party she was probably just "hangry" when they fought, and she hoped the both of them would put their best foot forward in the future.

Henry's friend Kristin was invited to the party, and she admitted she wanted to give Christina a chance and get to know her better. While she was skeptical of Henry marrying a stranger, Kristin hoped Christina would relieve her of her doubts.

Christina, Henry and their guests then played a game of "Would You Rather?" Most of the questions revolved around sex, and Christina explained how intimacy means a lot to her in a relationship.

Kristin revealed to Christina when Henry wasn't in the room that it takes time for Henry to open up and let his guard down, even when he's just becoming friends with a person. Kristin said Henry tends to come across standoffish or unemotional but he's actual very loyal and would be there for the people he cares about.

Christina said she wanted to dig deeper in her relationship and begin showing each other signs of affection.

"We're taking it slow, but touch me!" Christina griped. "I've never been the initiator. And I don't ever intend to be the initiator, so we have to be realistic about that part of it."

Some of the guests also advised Henry to take charge and stop playing it safe, but Henry admitted he felt like his relationship was "at a standstill."

Amani and Woody entertain

At their party, Amani and Woody gushed about their relationship, and Woody's friends could see a different side of him. Woody's friends could tell that he was falling hard for Amani.

The group played "Never Have I Ever," and Amani disclosed she's never had a one-night stand but previously ghosted somebody after having sex with him. Woody lost the game and was out a lot sooner than Amani, so she said her husband owed her a massage.

Woody told his friends that he loved his wife and loved spending time with her, and he also gushed about their physical intimacy being really good. Amani also only had nice things to say about her spouse when talking to her girlfriends.

Karen and Miles have their housewarming party

On Day 15 of marriage, Karen and Miles had their housewarming party, and Karen looked forward to seeing her husband in his element around his own friends. She hoped for reassurance and proof Miles was the guy he had been portraying himself to be.

Karen learned Miles is "a lover" and a sweetheart from his big sister. Miles' sister told Karen that Miles is "a good one," and Karen started to receive comfort her husband was authentic and pretty selfless.

While playing a game of "Truth or Dare," Karen sat on Miles' lap throughout the game and the pair even kissed in front of the group. Karen didn't seem comfortable with the PDA, but she played along and had some fun.

Olivia worries about moving into Brett's house

Olivia and Brett played "Would You Rather?" with their friends at their party, and Olivia shared she'd rather have sex "doggy-style" over "starfish." The conversation made everyone laugh and appeared to pique Brett's interest.

Olivia shared with a friend she and Brett had very different personalities, explaining that Brett tended to be very loud and outspoken as well as a bit of a homebody.

Olivia also felt obligated to live in Brett's house since he owned it, but Olivia admitted, "That's not really convenient for me. I don't want to live 45 minutes from work and there's nothing for me to do over there."

Olivia elaborated on her situation, "I got a husband to go travel and do things and to have a partner in life to experience things, and I'm afraid he can't do that or doesn't want to or doesn't want to spend the money to do that."

Olivia's friend advised her that she had plenty of time before having to make a decision.

Amelia and Bennett host a painting party

Meanwhile, Amelia and Bennett asked their friends to create a mural for them that they could hang in their apartment. The couple gushed about how the giant painting turned out perfectly.

Amelia said she hoped Bennett was taking their marriage as seriously because she got married to be with a man "forever."

Amelia shared with friends that nights with Bennett kept getting "better and better" and they spooned a lot, and Bennett told some of their guests that he was completely committed to Amelia and felt "very confident" in what they had.

"She makes me laugh all the time. I think she's beautiful and really cool," Bennett said.

Amelia's best guy friend, Louie, told Amelia that Bennett was totally true and authentic and that they had a great conversation. Amelia couldn't believe how much she liked Bennett already, and Louie said, "What the hell more do you need?!"

"Are you saying you think this could work out?" Louie asked.

"I feel like it, yeah!" Amelia said, before adding, "He's awesome."

Louie said the relationship felt "real," which was "insane" but "incredible" at the same time.

Christina and Henry fight again and Henry storms off

On Day 16 of marriage, Christina said she hoped Henry would become more open and communicative.

While the pair cooked dinner, Christina said they didn't have butter or aluminum foil, and she complained she couldn't remember everything while doing all the grocery shopping, which made Henry wince.

Christina asked Henry to share some stories about his childhood, but Henry didn't say much other than he and his brother would fight about stupid things when they were younger.

When the pair ate dinner together, there were awkward silences, and so Christina asked a member of the production team if they could provide a list of questions for the married couple to ask each other.

"It's too difficult right now," Christina admitted.

"It just feels [disingenuous]. It's kind of ridiculous that everyone expects us to just have, like, flowing conversation... I always have to be the initiator, I always have to be the one -- and he's giving me nothing."

Christina swore with frustration and Henry rolled his eyes, and once she returned to the table, Christina asked Henry to help her out because she felt like she was doing everything.

Christina accused Henry of asking "surface [level] questions," but Henry pointed out they were just having a lighthearted discussion, which is why he had asked her about her favorite meals growing up.

"I think it's best if I just walk away for a few minutes and give each other some space," Henry said.

"Clearly," Christina replied.

Henry then left the apartment and Henry vented as he walked down the halls, "I really don't care. I'm f-cking done."
