Married at First Sight star Dave Flaherty admitted during a recent episode had he known his wife Amber Martorana dated one of his friends from the gym before their wedding, he never would have gone through with the marriage. So did he really mean it?

"I've known this guy for a couple of years, and I can remember him talking about her," Dave recalled of Amber's ex-fling in a confessional that aired during Married at First Sight's July 24 episode.

"So the whole thing is just pretty sh-tty. It was gut-wrenching to hear when it's so personal to me now that this is my wife and I'm finding this out. If I'm being honest, if I had known this going in, I would have dropped out."

During Tuesday night's Married at First Sight: Unfiltered episode, Dave opened up to host Jamie Otis, co-star Tristan Thompson and Pastor Calvin Roberson about the disturbing revelation and whether he still stands by the statement he had made.

"It's something I really don't like talking about a lot, so bringing it up sucks, or having it be brought up. But like I said, I knew him well while they were dating and I was made aware of things that happened between them. And I think for any guy, that's like..." Dave began.

"Yeah, that's definitely tough -- having to see the guy that slept with your wife," Tristan chimed in.

"But just like Amber said, she's worth it, right?" Jamie asked.

"It's such an unfair argument. Of course she is. Of course she is. There's no way I can disagree with that. Obviously Amber is an amazing woman person and a wonderful wife, but it still sucks," Dave confessed.

"But do you still stand by your statement that if you had known that going into this [show], you wouldn't [participate]?" Jamie questioned.

Dave then nodded his head slowly and with hesitation, knowing this confirmation was a huge deal.

"What?!" Jamie exclaimed.

"Yeah, I've always been -- I know, I've just been that guy that if you date one of my friends, you're basically a dude now to me. Like, I'm just not going to go there," Dave said.

"But why?" Jamie asked for clarification.

"It's kind of like, 'This is my wife. This is my pride and joy.' So it's like, if you have a guy who disrespected her and was like, 'Oh yeah, she was just one of the girls that I just hooked up with,' and then he went into detail about it, that sucks!" Tristan explained on his friend's behalf.

Jamie couldn't exactly grasp the severity of the issue, but then Tristan and Dave just brushed off the conversation, insisting, "It's a guy thing."

"I understand what they're saying," Pastor Calvin joined in. "Men are territorial, just naturally. And I think women too are in a lot of respects."

Calvin added that although Amber did nothing wrong and doesn't really have anything to do with the situation, "the fact [Dave has] to see this guy, especially if the guy is a jerk... it makes it even worse."

"It just sucked. That's the thing. I was never angry at her; I was never angry at him either," Dave reasoned.

"I was angry at the situation because it's almost like I'm being forced to be in this situation. And at this point, a week into our [marriage], I don't know Amber that well. And now it almost feels like I'm stuck in this situation I would never choose."
