Married at First Sight couple Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner have renewed the vows they made to each other on-camera after meeting for the first time on their wedding day.

Jamie and Doug tied the knot five years ago on Season 1 of Married at First Sight, and the couple renewed their wedding vows in Curacao at the Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort earlier this month.

"Renewing our vows and recommitting to one another was something we *needed* to do. We've been through A LOT in the last five years, but the most trying has been our difficulties in growing our family. I've been pregnant 4 times, but we only have one beautiful rainbow baby here on earth," Jamie revealed in an Instagram posting.

Following a heartbreaking miscarriage with son Johnathan in 2015, Jamie and Doug welcomed daughter Henley Grace in August 2017, and they've been trying for another baby ever since.

"Delivering our first born son was most heart-wrenching. We held him close and when we looked at him we saw this perfectly formed little body... We will never get to hear his little baby chatter, giggles, & cooing as he looks back at us," Jamie sadly recalled.

"He went straight up to heaven and we were left with nothing but his memory & a promise to him that we'd never forget him. I know this type of struggle could break a marriage, but I am so thankful for @doughehner."

Jamie concluded, "Since day one -- meeting at the altar on married at first sight -- he has been gentle, patient and supportive to me in every way. I never knew a man like this existed before I met him... I never knew a love like this could be mine."

Jamie added that the couple "still do" and will "continue to 'do' til the day we go up to heaven to meet our little angel babes."

Jamie and Doug gushed to People how they wanted to celebrate how far they've come as a married couple, both personally and emotionally.

"Five years is a very big deal!" Doug noted.

"We wanted to do something extremely private and extra special to celebrate our five-year anniversary," Jamie shared.

The couple therefore opted to go on a vacation to reconnect, just the two of them.

"[That can] sometimes [be] challenging between work and being a parent," Doug told People.

"With five years, and having a daughter, you realize that your priorities shift and your relationship changes and grows. It is easy to fall into a day-after-day-after-day routine and not appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into your marriage."

Jamie admitted to the magazine she and Doug had found themselves "stuck in a rut" after five years together so they felt the need to nurture their love and remind each other of their mutual feelings.

"It was a perfect getaway, and even more special than our first vow renewal," Doug said.

Jamie and Doug renewed their vows for the first time when cameras were rolling for their first spinoff, Married at First Sight: The First Year. The ceremony took place in front of close family and friends on a beach and aired in early 2015.

However, the couple took a different approach to their most recent vow renewal.

"We didn't let anyone know what we were doing [this time] -- not family, not friends, not production companies or networks or press," Jamie told People.

"Our lives have been so public, and most big milestones have been displayed on Married at First Sight, but this time we wanted to keep it super private and small. We wanted to sneak away and take time to focus on us."

After renewing their vows, Jamie and Doug reportedly enjoyed a massage, explored Curacao, went jet skiing around the island, and swan in the ocean.

Jamie suggested the couple then returned home more in love than ever.

In addition to appearing on Season 1 of Married at First Sight and its subsequent First Year spinoff, the couple also starred on Married at First Sight: Jamie and Doug Plus One.

Jamie also currently serves as the host of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, the reality series' post-episode discussion show that airs on Lifetime.
