Amani, a 29-year-old non-profit worker who was raised in Chicago, IL, and Woody, a 30-year-old teacher and coach from New Orleans, were matched by Married at First Sight experts Pastor Calvin Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Dr. Viviana Coles to wed on Season 11 of the Lifetime reality series.

After a whopping four months of marriage -- the longest process in Married at First Sight history due to New Orleans' stay-at-home order amid the coronavirus pandemic -- Woody and Amani chose to stay together on "Decision Day" and continue their marriage with the hope of a bright future together and growing more in love.

But the couple revealed in a YouTube video on Sunday they didn't actually meet for the first time at the altar on their wedding day!

"Did we know each other before the show?" Woody asked during a Q&A session for fans with Amani by his side.

"Define 'know,'" Amani teased.

Woody confirmed, "We didn't know each other."

"We did not know each other," Amani echoed.

"But we seen each other, yes," Woody clarified.

Amani elaborated, "We actually met for the first time like two weeks before we got married."

Woody repeated how "weird" it was to have met his future wife less than two weeks before their wedding day.

"Imagine that! Just let that sink in," Woody noted.

"So we have met prior... " Amani shared.

"To being married," Woody interjected.

Amani then explained how she had been matched on "the Friday -- two weeks before our wedding."

"It was like at the end of January, I guess, and then he got matched the next day on Saturday. And then we met Sunday at my old job," shared Amani, who worked at a restaurant called Culture Park.

"I was bartending part-time at a very poppin' place in New Orleans, and so of course, like, popular poppin' people come to this place. He comes to the bar, you know, just talking and stuff. We didn't even have an exchange of names."

"It wasn't even that," Woody agreed.

"It was just drinks and, like, conversation really randomly whenever he would come up to order something," Amani said.

Amani recalled how she must have looked "a little flustered" one of the times Woody had approached the bar because her now-husband asked if she needed something.

"I was like, 'You're the customer,'" Amani said with a laugh. "But [Woody] told me [the chef] was his friend, and I was like, 'Oh, well I ordered some food -- some lamb chops -- and it's been a little while."

"So I pulled up with the chops! Pulled up with the chops is what I did," Woody bragged.

"Yeah, he went and got my food for me, y'all," Amani gushed.

Woody also apparently brought food out for Amani's co-worker as well.

"She was working and I brought her their food, and that was that!" Woody revealed. "Honestly, I looked at her and I was like, 'Ah!' I was like, she's looking right, man, yeah!"

Woody continued, "I was like, 'I should shoot my shot!' But then I was like, 'Nahh, man, I'm getting married in a week. Nahh, don't do it!"

"And I was seeing past him because I was already looking for my husband! I was like, 'I'm getting married in less than two weeks!" Amani noted. "I was like, 'He's nice but I have a husband on the way!'"

Fast forward to the wedding night, Woody said he mentioned how he had brought Amani her food at the bar that day.

"It came up! That's how I figured it out. I was like, 'I did give you your food!' And that was a trip, me imagining that two weeks before you meet your wife, you give her food, like, you feed her," Woody said.

"And he's been feeding me ever since," Amani sweetly responded.

"And I've been feeding her ever since! That's crazy, literal craziness," Woody shouted with enthusiasm.

Amani wrapped up the segment by saying she and Woody did meet before marrying but they never got a chance to get to know one another.

"I didn't even remember his face until we were laying in the bed that night," Amani said.

"Because the whole wedding, I kept saying, 'Man, his face looks familiar!' But I couldn't figure it out. We just went the whole wedding partying and thinking we had never met."

Amani remembered talking to Woody all night after getting married.

"He was like, 'Your face looks so familiar,' and then it clicked and he was like, 'I brought you lamb chops!'" Amani said.

Amani and Woody had a very heartfelt and emotional interaction on "Decision Day" when they opted to remain a married couple.

Woody said he used to look at love as a thing or a person but being with Amani made him view it as consistency, security and safety. Woody said Amani gave him everything that he ever wanted.

In turn, Amani said she learned "love really can be unconditional" and she never thought she'd be able to find that with a partner.

Woody said he looked forward to a house, kids and a dog with his wife, and Amani felt she had "won."

In addition to Amani and Woody, Karen Landry and Miles Williams also stayed together on "Decision Day," as did Amelia Fatsi and Bennett Kirschner.

Henry Rodriguez and Christina, however, agreed to get a divorce, and Brett Lindsey and Olivia Cornu's marriage ended over a week before "Decision Day."

On Married at First Sight's Season 11 reunion special that aired in late October, Amani revealed her plans to take Woody's last name, and the pair were still experiencing "honeymoon vibes" after more than six months of marriage.

Woody then got down on one knee and told Amani, "I signed on. I never thought I'd get a life partner, you know? I've been holding this in for so long. Yes, they matched us. But honestly, I really do love you, for real."

"I just can't see you outside of my life," he added in tears. "So, I got this thing customized for you."

Woody presented Amani with a diamond engagement ring, and she started to cry.

"I'm sweating, I'm shaking, I'm nervous. Will you accept this from me? I know the show gave you a ring, but I think that you'll care more about it because it's actually from me for my reasoning, for our life," Woody said.

"Thank you! I do! Again," Amani replied, before hugging her husband. "I love you too."

Amani was so glad she was no longer by herself and Woody did everything he could to show how much he cared. She called her relationship "the definition of a fairy tale."
