This season of Marriage Boot Camp documents the following couples attempting to work through their issues: Bachelor in Paradise stars Juelia and JJ Lane, Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry and estranged husband Javi, Bad Girls Club star Mehgan James and boyfriend DeAndre, Shahs of Sunset stars Asifa Mirza and Bobby Panahi, and Love & Hip Hop: New York stars Amina Buddafly and Peter Gunz.

All of the couples try to overcome their scandals, dark secrets, and emotional or physical cheating under the guidance and with the help of therapists Dr. Venus Nicolino and Dr. Ish Major.

The broadcast began with Mehgan wondering if DeAndre was only with her because of who she is and what she has. DeAndre, however, yelled in front of the group that he had never asked her for a dime, which Mehgan called a lie.

It then became time to put nagging questions such as these to the test. Venus and Ish wanted to show these couples once and for all whether their fears, concerns and suspicions were rational or irrational.

Each Marriage Boot Camp participant was therefore required to take a lie detector test administered by professionals who work closely with judiciary and law enforcement to determine who's been telling the truth all along.

The cast was instructed to come up with one question for their romantic partners that Divorce Court judge Lynn Toler and the doctors could ultimately modify or overrule. The experts wanted to get to the bottom of each couple's major problem.

JJ was asked, "Are you still in love with your ex-wife?" While he answered "no," in the test, deception was indicated.

"It's good information to have," Juelia told the cameras of JJ's results. "It's obvious his feelings for his ex-wife are going to interfere with our relationship."

Juelia was asked, "Could you see yourself marrying JJ?" She answered "no," and deception was indicated, showing that she's been lying to herself. JJ was pleased to hear Juelia could genuinely envision marrying him one day, but he was a nervous wreck over his own test.

DeAndre was then questioned, "Are you with Mehgan for her money or TV fame?" DeAndre responded "no," but deception was indicated in the lie detector test.

Mehgan insisted in a confessional that she had known for quite some time that DeAndre's was "using" her and didn't love her.

But just when viewers started feeling pity for Mehgan, the results of her own lie detector test were revealed.

Mehgan was asked, "Do you really want to be in a romantic relationship with DeAndre?" She flat out answered "no" to the professional, which turned out to be the truth. But Mehgan was so nervous, she didn't believe the test could produce an honest answer either way.

It appeared DeAndre and Mehgan's relationship was over at this point in the process.

As for Peter and Amina -- who had been struggling to solidify a commitment -- Peter was asked, "Do you think you could ever be only with Amina?" Peter answered "yes" and deception was indicated.

Amina was asked, "Have you cheated on Peter since you got married?" Amina answered "no," and she was telling the truth.

Amina was upset Peter answered "yes" and lied, but Peter explained that he had promised he'd at least try to commit to her 100 percent. Peter, however, had been open the whole time about how he's not a perfect person and struggles to remain loyal and faithful to his wife.

Bobby and Asifa's results were given next. Bobby was asked, "Would you ever marry Asifa again?" And it turned out Bobby was telling the truth, which made Asifa giddy and joyful.

Asifa was asked, "Are you afraid that Bobby is the best that you can do?" Asifa replied "no," but deception was indicated, telling Bobby that she feels deep down she won't be able to find a better man for her.

Kailyn and Javi's results were highly anticipated, as the pair often played the blame game.

Kailyn was asked, "Did you have sex with more than one person while Javi was deployed?" Kailyn answered "yes," and that was the truth.

"I knew it. I knew it," Javi told the cameras. "I let myself trust her and she's a liar."

But Javi didn't come out of the drill clean. He was asked, "Did you ever cheat on Kailyn?" He replied "no," but deception was indicated.

"I'm pissed off," Kailyn said in a confessional. "Why were you pointing your finger at me when you're a hypocrite?... Truthfully, I didn't want to know, because what I don't know can't hurt me. I never want to hear from him again that I'm a cheater -- ever."

Kailyn wanted to leave the house because she was so frustrated about having been labeled a cheater when Javi was guilty of doing the same thing.

The episode concluded with the girls and guys partying in separate buses and at separate clubs. Each couple had one night to think about their relationship given "Decision Day" was right around the corner.

Javi danced with another girl at a club and brought her into the guys' bus when it was empty. He appeared to kiss her neck while dancing in front of her as she was sitting down. Javi, however, felt guilty afterwards about his behavior and confessed to his friends that he still loved Kailyn and wanted to be with her.

As for DeAndre, he chatted up a pretty woman all night at the bar and ended up getting her phone number. The pair even sealed the deal with a kiss on her cheek.

In the last Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars episode of the season next week, each participant will be asked to present his or her significant other with a promise ring as long as he or she wants to continue the romance and stay together.

If a person chooses not to give a ring to his or her partner, then the relationship will come to an end.
