Investigators said David Davis, 21, of New Haven, told them he was receiving a haircut at a Stamford apartment when the other man entered the residence and approached him in an "aggressive manner," The Daily Stamford reported Thursday.
Davis told police he grabbed the scissors being used to cut his hair and slashed the other man's back in self-defense, The Stamford Advocate reported.
Police said the victim, identified as a 21-year-old Stamford man, was treated at a hospital for his injury. They said the thick coat he was wearing helped protect him from being more deeply cut.
Davis was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court. Police said Davis is also likely to face charges related to the incident and was ordered held in lieu of $5,000 bond. He is due in court March 22.
