A grieving 73-year-old widower in Virginia claims he can see his late wife's face in the marble of her burial crypt, and has witnesses who agree.

Howard Taylor noticed his wife's resemblance in the stone late last month during one of his twice-daily visits to the mausolem since she died Dec. 4.

He said at first he was reluctant to tell anyone, but called his wife's former nurse, Rosa Allen, on his cell phone.

"I didn't want to tell many people at first because I knew they'd think I was nuts," Taylor told the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Allen agreed there was a distinct similarity in the marble's grain to Virginia Taylor's face. Dean Bruce, a family-service counselor at the cemetery, agrees.

"It's not just any face. It looks like his wife," said Bruce, adding no one could have tampered with the wall.

"The stone is polished and flat. No one's messed with it. It's just really strange," he said.
