Champaign County Municipal Court Judge Susan Fornof-Lippencott handed down a $150 fine to Andrew Vactor, 24, but offered to reduce the fine to $35 if Vactor listened to 20 hours of classical music, the Springfield (Ohio) News-Sun reported Thursday.
Chief Probation Officer Glenda Runkle said Vactor "only made it through about 15 minutes" of the first of three classical disks kept on hand by the department.
Vactor said his decision to take the larger fine instead of the classical music treatment was an issue of time.
"I didn't have the time to deal with that," he said. "I just decided to pay the fine."
