Shopkeeper John Nagle said while re-purchasing his green 1934 Morris Minor cost him nearly $9,000 more than it did when he was 17, being reunited with the vehicle has been a dream come true, The Daily Telegraph said Wednesday.
Nagle said he had contacted the owner of his former vehicle and was "delighted" to learn the vehicle was available for sale.
"I was delighted to have tracked her down," he said. "It will be a year or so before I manage to make her roadworthy again -- she's going to need some TLC."
Nagle's wife, Josephine, told the Telegraph her husband began reminiscing about his first car after he bought her a Morris Minor a few years ago for her birthday.
"That set him thinking 'I wonder if Emmeline ever survived," the 65-year-old said, referring to the nickname Nagle gave the car.
