Charles Futrell, of The Villages, completed Saturday's Central Florida Triathlon Series in 2 hours, 18 minutes and 38 seconds, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The race comprised a 440-yard swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run.
Mark Lepow, media director for event coordinator Sommer Sports, confirmed Futrell is the oldest man to complete a triathlon sanctioned by the USAT, but he said the group doesn't know who the previous record holder was.
