Officials at the African orphanage where Madonna recently found her new son have claimed the U.S. pop singer ignored children who had no parents.

Home for Hope director Lucy Chipeta said that Madonna rejected orphans who had no parents in their lives before choosing David Banda, whom she claimed still was receiving visits from his father, said The Times of London.
"Of course this was a chance for David, but he had a parent. There are other desperate children and we would have loved her to take one of them," said Chipeta, whose orphanage is in the African nation of Malawi.
"David's father used to visit him three times a week and sometimes even more whenever word reached him that his son was sick. He was so close to his son we had doubts that he was going to allow David to go away," she added.
The 48-year-old U.S. singer had previously claimed that Banda's father had no role in the orphan's life and that she had no knowledge of any other family involvement, said the paper.
