"Twin Peaks" star Madchen Amick is joining the cast of the new ABC sitcom, "Freddie," it was announced Monday.

Amick will step into the role of Allison, played by Megyn Price in the pilot, for the show starring Freddie Prinze Jr. as a chef whose life is overrun by the women in his family, Zap2it.com reported.

Amick rose to fame with "Twin Peaks" and went on to star in Stephen King's "Sleepwalkers" and CBS' short-lived "Central Park West."

She's had recurring parts on "Gilmore Girls" and played Noah Wyle's love interest on "ER." She also appeared last season in John Stamos' "Jake in Progress" and had a recurring role on NBC's "Joey."

"Freddie" will fill ABC's 8:30 p.m. Wednesday slot in the fall.
