Rescue workers said Erin Bowser, 33, of Clearfield, did not appear to be seriously injured after her Dodge Ram sideswiped a Cadillac Monday on Route 68 in Butler County and crashed through a guardrail, falling at least 100 feet before coming to rest in a tree above Connoquenessing Creek, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Tuesday.

Firefighters said it took about two hours to rescue Bowser from the truck using ladder trucks and ropes.

"She's very lucky," Meridian volunteer firefighter Ken Wagner said.

Wagner said Bowser's truck nearly ended up in the creek and she almost certainly would have been ejected and killed if not for her seatbelt.

He said she did not appear to be injured.

"She was completely alert and as calm as you can be," Wagner said.

Pennsylvania State Police said Bowser is likely to be cited for speeding and other possible infractions.
