A kitten rescued from the back of a recycling truck in England as it was about to be crushed has been given a new name -- Lucky.
Cook said the crew operating the truck heard the kitten mewing and stopped the crusher. When Lucky arrived at the depot, Cook took it to a vet who said it was only about 3 weeks old.
There is no way Lucky could have gotten into a recycling bin by accident, Cook said.
"That is the most horrific part of it, for someone to do that," she said. "If you put something in a bin you know where it is going to end up, and for someone to do that on purpose is horrific."
