Residents of Berks County, Pa., say they are split regarding the local filming of the TLC program "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

Between all of the media attention and filming efforts focused on the show's stars, Jon and Kate Gosselin, some Berks County residents have had enough, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sunday.

"This is a nice, quiet, small, little town, and it has become freaking nuts," area resident Peter Heim said. "I chase the cameras off all the time. We just want to be left alone."

"Everybody else in the world has kids, too, and they're not making money off it," another resident, Betsy Kreitz, offered.

But locals have attempted to see both sides of the show, which follows the Gosselins as they attempt to raise sextuplets and a set of fraternal twins.

"They have their private life, they have their show life," said Joe Spada, a friend of Jon's. "Like anything else, it gets exhausting."

"It's unfortunate," an area father-of-three told the Inquirer of the media attention surrounding the large family. "Their life is out there."
