Harris County, Texas, authorities are trying to figure out how 70 pieces of luggage got into a garbage bin in Houston.

Deputies at the Harris County Sheriff's department said the bags were found outside a pet shop near the North Freeway, The Houston Chronicle reported.

It was visible that some of the luggage had been gone through and the bags had destination tags from all over, including London and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The police took this as an indication that the luggage most likely came from international flights arriving at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

FBI agents were called into the investigation since some of the bags originated in the Middle East but a spokesman told the Chronicle the bags posed no danger.

Continental Airlines officials took custody of the entire pile of luggage and transferred it to their baggage service center.

"We're trying to reach whoever we need to let them know the bags are there," Mary Clark, a Continental spokeswoman, told the newspaper.
