Singer Liza Minnelli was hospitalized after she fell out of bed and hit her head at her New York home.

Her bodyguard called 911 when 58-year-old entertainer could not lift herself off the floor, People magazine reported.

Minnelli had been scheduled to perform Wednesday and Thursday at a nightclub in Miami's South Beach, but a nightclub spokesman was unaware of the hospitalization, USA Today reported Tuesday.

She is the midst of a divorce from David Gest and is being sued by her former bodyguard who alleged she beat him and forced him to have sex with her.

Minnelli, the daughter of Judy Garland, has battled addictions to alcohol and painkillers and nearly died from encephalitis.
