Liza Minnelli canceled a Monday appointment with her estranged husband and lawyers at the last minute, the New York Post reported.

Minnelli was to be reunited with alleged abuse victim David Gest at a lawyer's office for a deposition, but Gest lawyer Lawrence Omansky said the actress cancelled the gathering at the 11th hour. He said Minnelli's attorneys "didn't give any valid reason for it."

Gest's attorney was to question Minnelli for three days regarding his client's claims she repeatedly beat him during drunken rampages.

"We believe she's scared to testify and she's just trying to stall as long as she can," Omansky said.

The lawyer said he plans to ask Judge Jane Solomon, presiding over Gest's $10 million assault suit, to bar Minnelli from defending herself against Gest's claims if she continues to refuse to answer questions under oath.
