Lohan, 24, is best known for her roles in the movies "Mean Girls," "Freaky Friday" and "The Parent Trap."
Judge Marsha Revel said at a hearing Tuesday the actress failed to attend court-ordered alcohol education classes, thereby violating her probation in a 2007 driving under the influence conviction, ABC News reported on its Web site.
Lohan broke down in tears upon hearing the sentence, the report said.
She is expected to surrender July 20 to begin serving her sentence.
