Lindsay Lohan on apparently the verge of taking a plea deal due to the looming prospect of prison time, sources tell TMZ.com.

The entertainment industry Web site said Sunday that sources close to the California actress say she is beginning to have doubts she can beat the felony rap for allegedly tying to steal a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles jeweley store.
Lohan publicly has been insisting she was innocent and would not take a plea to a lesser charge that reportedly would include some county jail time but would avoid harder time in state prison.
TMZ said Lohan still is convinced she did nothing wrong, but is also more concerned with the inherent risks of a jury trial and is "seriously considering" accepting a deal.
Lohan has a Friday court date, and her attorney must inform the judge on Wednesday if she accepts the plea deal.
