Lohan, 25, checked in Sunday night at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., to begin serving her sentence for violating her probation in a drunken driving case, but she was quickly released because of jail overcrowding, People.com said.
"All I can tell you is that she was already released," LA Sheriff's Deputy Tony Moore told the celebrity Web site Monday.
The "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" star still must complete 53 days of janitorial duty at the Los Angeles morgue and take part in 18 psychotherapy sessions by the end of March to satisfy the requirements of her probation, People.com said.
