Rocker Lenny Kravitz says he wants to really connect with his fans during tours of the Americas and Europe backing his seventh release, "Baptism."

Kravitz will mount his first tour of South America starting March 4 in Mexico City and open his first U.S. tour since 2002 with a 27-city stretch that begins in Dallas and ends in Los Angeles, Billboard magazine reported.

"When I was planning my American tour, I decided that I wanted to get back to my roots, strip down the production and do something different, Kravitz said. "I haven't played theaters in years, and don't know when I'll be able to do it again, so this tour is going to be a great way to get out there and really connect with my fans."

Kravitz, once he wraps his "Electric Church: One Night Only!" tour of the U.S., takes his music to Europe.
