Geraldine Grunwald's Milwaukee County Circuit Court lawsuit claims she started to leave the Bradley Center when Groban's August 2007 concert appeared to end and the house lights came up, but the lights went back off when the singer returned for an encore, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Friday.
Grunwald's suit said the sudden loss of light made it "pitch black and impossible to see the stairways," causing her to tumble and suffer injuries to her head, neck, back, leg and arm.
The lawsuit alleges negligence on the part of the Bradley Center and concert promoter Live Nation.
Lawyers for the defendants said Grunwald was responsible for exercising reasonable care toward herself and others at the concert.
