Kim Kardashian has three beautiful children with husband Kanye West, but she could definitely see herself bringing a fourth child into the world.

Although Kim just welcomed her daughter Chicago via gestational carrier less than two months ago and said "my home and my heart feel really full right now," the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star can envision herself being a mom to four babies.

"I don't think I could handle more than that," Kim, 37, told Elle magazine in its April 2018 issue. "My time is spread really thin. And I think it's important that in all couples, the mom give the husband as much attention as the kids."

Chicago was born on January 15, and Kim and Kanye are also parents to daughter North, 4, and son Saint, 2.

Since the couple already had one boy and one girl in their immediate family, Kim told Elle she didn't prefer one sex over the other when deciding whether to go with a female or male embryo for her gestational carrier.

"It's a really tricky thing," she recalled of the process. "What sex do you put in? I just said, 'Which one is the healthiest? Pick the healthiest one,' and that was a girl."

Kim opted for another woman to deliver Chicago because she had suffered from placenta accreta during her two previous pregnancies.

"After giving birth, your placenta is supposed to come out. But mine was stuck. That's what women usually die from in childbirth -- you hemorrhage and bleed to death and they can't stop it," Kim revealed to the magazine.

"To get it out -- it's so disgusting -- the doctor had to stick his whole arm in me and scrape it off. It was the most painful [experience]."

Kim said that whenever she mentions the moment to her mother -- who was in the room for North's birth -- Kris Jenner will immediately start crying when thinking about the "traumatic" procedure.

As far as making sure her gestational carrier was healthy and well taken care of, Kim told Elle that she offered some guidelines to follow for an organic diet; however, she wasn't strict or demanding.

"I straight-up told her, 'Look, I ate doughnuts every single day. If you want doughnuts and ice cream, go for it. Do whatever you feel. I'm not going to be picky like that. That's just ridiculous,'" Kim explained.

And through all the ups and downs of the last few years, Kim is also apparently still very happy in her marriage to Kanye.

"He's taught me to have more of an opinion," the reality TV star noted of the rapper. "I've taught him to be a bit more calm or cautious. We're a good balance."

When looking back on her experience with surrogacy, Kim admitted she "would recommend" it to anyone.

"I hated being pregnant," Kim said. "But as much as I hated it, I still wished I could have done it on my own. The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it's the best experience."
