The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star's mom, Kris Jenner, and best friend, Allison Statter, marked the occasion by posting throwback photos from Kardashian's childhood and Sweet 16 on Friday.

"Happy birthday to my precious Kimberly! @kimkardashian I love and adore you... you have brought so much joy into all of our lives and you are the most wonderful daughter, wife, sister, friend and mom," Jenner wrote on Instagram.

"I thank God every day he blessed me with you and I cherish every single moment and memory. My heart is full of gratitude and I love you more than you will ever imagine or know," she added.

Statter took to Kardashian's website to share pictures from the star's 16th birthday party.

The mom-of-two celebrated her Sweet 16 with family and friends at the Italian restaurant Cicada in 1996.

"It's hard to believe that 20 years ago, Kim and I were turning 16 and learning how to drive," Statter wrote. "Kim was always a tad bit younger than us, with her birthday being in October, so we were all ready for her to turn 16 so we didn't have to drive her everywhere anymore!"

"Kim didn't think she was getting a car because her dad had convinced her she didn't need her own car at 16, so when Kim walked outside after lunch to her new white BMW in the parking lot, she was SO surprised," she recalled.

"As Kim and I have grown up together and gone through some life milestones -- like getting our first jobs, moving into our first apartments, getting married and having babies -- it's nice to look back at all of our memories together," she added.

"Happy birthday, Kimmie. I love you more than you know!"

Kardashian has kept out of the spotlight since she was robbed at gunpoint Oct. 2 in Paris.

Jenner said at Khloe Kardashian's denim line launch Tuesday that Kardashian's recovery from the incident is "a process."
