Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly following through with their plans for another child.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians couple has hired a surrogate in order to bring their third child into the world, People reported.

Kim, 36, has publicly discussed wanting a third child for months now, but doctors have warned her about the risks of another pregnancy.

In a recent Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode, Kim's sister Khloe Kardashian visited a fertility specialist to explore the details of surrogacy but discovered during a physical exam that she does not have many follicles, which hold a woman's eggs.

It's unclear who will serve as Kim's surrogate, as 30-year-old model Chrissy Teigen also previously offered.

"I would be her surrogate in a second," Chrissy told Access Hollywood. "I really enjoyed the pregnancy process... I loved it. Yes. In a heartbeat."

Kim underwent two surgeries after delivering her daughter North, now 4, in order to conceive and carry her son Saint, now 18 months. She suffered from placenta accreta -- a condition that affects five percent of women giving birth in which the placenta stays attached to the inside of the uterus -- both times.

"My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!!!" Kim wrote in her blog after welcoming North in 2013.

"My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that -- it was the most painful experience of my life! They gave me a second epidural but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal."

During an April episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim underwent a procedure to hopefully enable her body to carry a third baby with Kanye, whom she married in May 2014. She had explained to her family that the operation was designed to repair her uterus and remove scar tissue.

"Having more kids is definitely going to be a struggle," Kim admitted at the time.

"I've gone through so much with really bad deliveries that the doctors don't feel like it's safe for me to conceive again myself. This surgery is really the one last thing I can try. I want my kids to have siblings and I want to know that I did everything I could to make this happen."

However, a doctor told Kim in the episode there were complications during the surgery and it didn't work out as planned.

Kim then told the cameras, "Kanye and I have always talked about having more kids, but after what I went through in Paris, the urgency is even greater."

Kim was bound, gagged and robbed at gunpoint in Paris in October 2016, a traumatizing event that put the meaning of life into perspective for the reality TV star.

Later in the KUWTK episode last night, Kim discussed her surgery with friend Jonathan Cheban.

"I can't carry anymore kids... it's the worst," Kim revealed to Jonathan. "It's not going to be happy for me... I had a full break down... I give up."

She then informed her sisters that she felt "surrogacy is the only option for me."

Kim continued in a confessional, "Kanye and I are going to look into other options and see what we are comfortable with. I'm definitely leaning towards I want to try [surrogacy]... I always knew surrogacy was an option, now it's my reality. Whatever is meant to be will be."
