Kim Cattrall says she loves the excitement of performing in front of a live audience for the Broadway revival of Noel Coward's comedy "Private Lives."

"It's live every night. I love that. I started in the theater, so it feels like being home," the 55-year-old former "Sex and the City" star said on Tuesday's edition of TV's "Live! with Kelly."

"It was written in the early 1930s and it was the original romantic comedy," Cattrall said of "Private Lives," a story about a divorced couple who find themselves honeymooning next door to each other with their new spouses. Paul Gross plays the on-again-off-again-on-again flame of Cattrall's character.

"Out of this came sort of 'Bringing Up Baby' and 'My Man Godfrey.' All those kind of crazy, zany comedies of the 1930s that we all know and love today," Cattrall explained. "Every night, you fall in love, fall out of love, you hate him, you love him,y, you fight him, you hit him, he hits you -- that kind of thing."

The actress admitted creating that emotional roller coaster each performance can be exhausting.

"But it's also exciting," she said. "There just is something that happens every night that's very special. The show is always the same because the script is the same, but the audience is always a little different. They laugh differently. They react differently."

The British-Canadian actress said she plans to spend Thanksgiving serving meals to people through the charitable organization In God We Trust, then performing that night in her show.

"We're working Thursday night. We're one of the one Broadway shows that are. We hope everyone will be awake because of all that turkey," she joked.
