The Georgia jury that heard a civil lawsuit in a brawl involving Kid Rock ordered the musician and his entourage to pay $40,000 in damages, court records show.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the panel in DeKalb decided the case in favor of plaintiff Harlen Akins Friday.

Akins claimed the recording artist and members of his party attacked him during a brawl at a Waffle House in October 2007. Akins asked for $2.9 million to settle his civil lawsuit, but the jury only awarded him $40,000, of which Kid Rock is to pay about $6,000, the report said

The singer was previously placed on probation and ordered to take anger-management classes for his role in the melee.

"We saw a lot of provocation from both sides," the newspaper quoted the jury's foreman, who would not give his name, as saying. "We couldn't affix 100 percent of the blame on either party."
