"I'm all right," the Grammy-winner performer told the magazine's Oct. 24 issue. "There have been better times, but I'll be OK."
Chesney, 37, said recording, his tour and the new marriage "ended up being too much."
Zellweger, 36, filed for annulment in Los Angeles Sept. 14, just four months after their wedding, citing "fraud." The actress later said she had to claim something on the form and "fraud" seemed the least inflammatory of the choices.
Chesney told Country Weekly he's looking forward to some time to gather his wits.
"I need a break real bad, and I'm going to go away for a couple of weeks -- I'll be fine," he said. "I'm tired right now, but by next year, I'll be excited to get back to it. And it'll be about the music again, not about the sideshow."
