Katy Perry to take year off to try to start a family with husband

Katy Perry plans to take a year off to try to start a family with her comedian husband Russell Brand, sources told the New York Post.

Perry is due to wrap up her 122-date "California Dreams" tour next week.

The Post said she has told her managers she doesn't plan to start any new projects for the following year because she wants to spend time with Brand and, hopefully, get pregnant.

Perry and Brand wed in October 2010.
