Katie Couric hasn't severed ties with CBS as rumors have suggested, however, she does want her own syndicated show, TMZ reported.

Couric, 54, has been the anchor and managing editor of "CBS Evening News" for five years but her contract expires in June, sparking media speculation about whether she will remain with the program, contribute to another existing show, start a new one on CBS or leave the network altogether.
TMZ quoted unnamed network sources Monday as saying Couric likely will leave CBS because she feels her role there has been too confining and wants to start up her own syndicated talk show in September 2012.
The "CBS Evening News" has struggled in viewer ratings during Couric's five-year stint as anchor.
