Rosenberg and Pinkner, who shared writing credits with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers on the script for "Welcome to the Jungle," are in negotiations to return.

Kasdan and the cast, which also included Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, are expected to return, Variety reported.

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" followed four high-school students sent to detention who get trapped inside of a video game where they must fight as avatars portrayed by Johnson, Hart, Black and Gillan in order to survive a dangerous jungle.

The film, which acts as a sequel to 1995's "Jumanji" starring Robin Williams, has earned $857 million and counting worldwide since releasing in December.

Rosenberg and Pinkner have also penned Sony's upcoming "Spider-Man" spinoff film "Venom" which stars Tom Hardy in the title role.
