Beatrice Bolton, 57, a judge in Newcastle Crown Court, was charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act, The Independent reported. The case was heard in magistrate's court in Carlisle, about 60 miles away.

After she was ordered to pay 2,500 pounds ($3,939), Bolton yelled that the proceeding was a "f--ing travesty."

"I'll never set foot in a court again," she called as she stalked out.

Bolton later apologized for her behavior, while saying she will appeal the fine.

Frederick Bekker, a student at the University of Sunderland, said he was talking to this girlfriend on the phone while sunbathing in his mother's garden when Bolton's dog bit him, ripping his pants, the Northumberland Gazette said.

Bekker's mother, Anne Malia, and her husband, David Malia, testified to a number of incidents with the dog. After one, Malia described Bolton and her family in a dog log as "neighbors from hell."
